Keaira was sitting down in one of the Hogwarts towers, and boy was she pissed. She had been sick for a few days and now was dealing with a large headache, one that had angered her enough so that she was beginning to become violent. She had already knocked some things over and broken various objects, but in seconds her hand would be reaching for her wand, which was currently residing in her front right pocket. Once she got a hold of it, there was no stopping her and her rampage of fury, so it was best to have just stayed away from her until she was calm.

Keaira had already tried ignoring her headache. When that didn't work, she only got angrier, which only made her headache worse. Keaira, being a wizard, had no access to any Muggle medicine, and she had never bothered to learn any spells that alleviate pain or heal injuries, so now she was stuck with this throbbing pain in her forehead. It just wouldn't go away, no matter how much she wanted it to.

That was it. Keaira was thoroughly frustrated, and she had to take it out on something. Maybe that lightning spell that her uncle had showed her once. Saevus Levitas. What powered it was rage and fury, which was exactly what Keaira was feeling right now. But what would she try the spell on? Keaira looked around the room, trying to find a suitable object, and finally she decided on the outside wall of the tower.

Keaira grabbed her wand, and pointed it at one of the bricks from the wall, shouting "Saevus Levitas!" First, what Keaira saw was a blueish orb of energy. It collected around her wand, growing in size. There was a soft, low humming noise as well. In just a few seconds, however, the energy shot out in a thin streak. That was the lightning bolt, and it traveled so fast that it was barely even visible. Keaira herd a loud crash as it hit its target, which was blown to bits by the spell. No, blown to bits wasn't even accurate - it was blown to dust.

Some smoke was coming off the area near the blast. Keaira watched for a moment, and when the effects of the spell sank in, she laughed. She had completely forgotten about her headache now - this was her form of pure entertainment. But it had only lasted a few seconds, as her headache had now made its presence known again. This reverted Keaira back to her original state of anger and annoyance - but she knew what she had to do; blast something else. Nobody had better gone up there if they wanted to come back down alive.

Saevus Levitas (Mark Ebson, Professor Summer) Empty Re: Saevus Levitas (Mark Ebson, Professor Summer)

Mark needed to get back to his common room. It was after-hours, a time when students were punished if caught roaming the halls. If a professor were to have caught Mark, he surely would have been sent in detention, something he had wanted to avoid for his entire time at Hogwarts. The only reason he was out here in the first place was because he had bet five Galleons that he wouldn't be caught. Mark still had ten minutes to go; he was supposed to be in the halls until 10:00. Well, not much could happen in ten minutes, right?

Mark was sitting on the staircases to one of the towers, waiting out the final ten minutes. According to the bet, he was required to be moving at all times, but Mark knew there was no way that he could have been found out to be cheating, and the thought of detention had goaded him into it. Besides, Mark wanted those five Galleons, and if he had to cheat to do it, then so be it.

"Saevus Levitas!"

Someone had shouted this from the tower that the stairs Mark was sitting on lead to. Seconds later, he had heard a crashing noise. Someone had done something up there, and it didn't sound like something good. Mark decided to go investigate, and began walking up the stairs quickly. Who was up there? It was a girl's voice, he knew that much. But it wasn't a voice that Mark had heard before.

Finally, when Mark had gotten to the top of the spiraling staircase, he saw a girl, not much older than he, laughing. His eyes moved to a hole in the wall which let in the cold night air from outdoors. The...the girl had done that. And she was...laughing. She was laughing because she had blown up part of a wall. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Mark blurted out. He hadn't intended to actually say that, but there was no taking it back now.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

Keaira quickly turned around upon hearing this. Whoever just said this was going to be dead in a few seconds. She spotted a first-year Gryffindor looking on in confusion near the stairs. He was much shorter than she was, by maybe six or seven inches. This Gryffindor was also defenseless for the moment, with his wand in his pocket. Was he an idiot? Something had just exploded and he comes up with no means of defending himself or attacking whoever caused the explosion. No matter, it just made killing him that much easier.

Keaira pointed her own wand at the boy and started the first out of a series of spells she was planning. First she would trip him with a spell, sending him down the stairs, then use her lightning spell while he was rolling down. Keaira figured that she could take him easily, as long as there weren't more people waiting for her. "Motus Infractus!" The spell was specifically designed to trip people, which would be good for sending the boy down the staircase.

What was Mark doing? He shouldn't have come up here in the first place. Actually, he shouldn't have been out of his common room after hours at all. If he had stayed there and ignored the other kid who had only thrown juvenile insults at Mark such as "chicken" and "baby", he wouldn't be in what was about to become a huge mess. But now it was too late; the other girl had turned around and was staring at Mark rather angrily.

Had Mark been given time to react, he wouldn't have gotten his wand out and attacked. No, he knew that he probably wasn't a match for someone who was vaporizing bricks from a tower wall. Instead, Mark would have run as fast as he could, right back to the Gryffindor common room, not caring who saw him or how many detentions he would have to serve. All it took was one quick glance into the eyes of that girl. They looked so cold and dark, but it was cold that could burn right through you.

Unfortunately, the only time Mark had was about half a second before the other girl had her wand pointed at Mark and was sending out a spell. Motus Infractus was the first one, which apparently tripped people over, because before Mark knew what was happening, he was rolling down the spiral staircase. There was no railing in reach, which meant nothing to grab on to. Nothing to stop him, or control him. Even worse, there was nothing now to save Mark from the girl.

Keaira could feel the anger flow through her veins as she cast the spell at the Gryffindor boy. She would make him suffer, make him pay for what he had said. He would be sorry for coming up those stairs in the first place. Well, at least he would be sorry if he was going to be still alive to feel anything after this. Nothing could stop Keaira from getting the boy now; the two were all alone and he was apparently defenseless.

Keaira was satisfied when the tripping spell had succeeded. She wasn't happy, but satisfied. There was a subtle difference between the two, and that difference was what defined Keaira. She was never happy. She rarely smiled. She would never be able to feel joy, or love. Keaira was cold and heartless, and because of this she would feel no remorse for taking the young Gryffindor's life. To her, it was his fault in the first place for angering her.

When the boy starting falling backwards down the stairs as Keaira had wanted, she ran over and began chasing him. He hadn't traveled very far when she had gotten to the doorway, and so there was time for her to warm up her spell as she ran downstairs after him. "Saevus Levitas!" Keaira shouted, and the blue orb of energy that was the charging phase of the spell appeared. It lasted only a mere three seconds before she was able to shoot out the lightning.

Keaira had been to quick to try and kill the boy, however. Immediately when she realized the spell was ready she had shot the lightning, and it missed by an inch due to her not aiming first. It wasn't a problem, however; it would only be three seconds more before Keaira could try again. And if she missed twice, then another three seconds more. Maybe even less at that point, since Keaira would be more angry then, and the spell was fueled by rage. The Gryffindor was doomed.

Saevus Levitas (Mark Ebson, Professor Summer) Empty Re: Saevus Levitas (Mark Ebson, Professor Summer)

Evan was on hall duty tonight, making sure that no students were outside their common rooms after hours. He would be monitoring the towers and the areas around them, including the Astronomy classroom. So far his night had been particularly uneventful, which is just the way it should have been. Evan wasn't really in the mood for reprimanding students that night. If only he could abandon his watch early and spend the night sleeping. But tonight was his night for watching the corridors, and that meant he would be using magic to keep himself awake tomorrow. Hopefully Evan would be awake enough during his classes.

Had Evan not heard the crashing and banging from down the hall, he probably would have went to bed and caught up on the sleep he had been missing tonight. But there were most obviously students awake, and apparently causing havoc somewhere in Evan's jurisdiction. This now meant that Evan had to do something about it, which normally he wouldn't have minded, but tonight it only irritated him. Whoever it was down there was not going to be happy when they had double the amount of detentions that he would normally give for being in the halls after hours. Considering that tonight was a Friday night, it would be even more painful news for the unlucky student to know that not one, but both nights of their weekend would be spent in detention.

As Evan quickly traveled down the corridor leading him to the source of the noise, he was wondering what punishment he should give out. Would the child be cleaning flubberworm mucus without using magic from old jars in the Potions classroom? Or would he or she be doing a massive amount of paperwork for Evan that would eventually just be thrown into a fireplace? Either of those sounded like something Evan wanted to give the student right now. Perhaps they could clean the jars one day, and do paperwork the next.

Evan turned a corner to find a scene that he had not expected. There was a Gryffindor boy rolling down the stairs from a tower, and something else had almost hit him. It was definitely something magic - it seemed like lightning, actually. Whoever was upstairs fighting with this boy seemed like he or she was winning. And whoever was upstairs was going to be in the trouble of their life.

Eventually the other person in combat with the Gryffindor, who was now at the bottom of the stairs, was revealed as she came racing down after him. The girl was in Slytherin, about half a foot shorter than Evan, and visibly infuriated. And she was definitely powerful with magic, considering that she nearly killed the boy who was still on the ground at Evan's feet. But Evan knew that he would be able to take care of her. She was only a student, after all. "Stop," he commanded. And she had better stop if she wanted to get off easy with two weeks' detention.
